Cannabis Business and Law Developments In the Covid-19 Crisis, Daily Journal (July 23, 2020)

In a recent article for the Daily Journal, Jonathan Landis discusses the latest developments in cannabis law and business as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. In particular, he focuses on cannabis businesses being allowed to operate (who are deemed essential) and the current robust sales as positive developments, while also pointing out that there are several other more challenging issues to take into account. These concerns that warrant a clear understanding by any cannabis business relate to licensing and permitting, investments and financing, contracts/force majeure, employment and compliance, and the CARES Act and Federal Relief Fund.

Jonathan Landis is Senior Counsel at ADLI Law Group. He provides outside general counsel legal advice and advocacy to small-to-medium sized businesses, emerging companies, startups, investors, and entrepreneurs in highly regulated industries including cannabis.
